About Us

Designing Dialogue CIC uses a methodology that supports inclusive and innovative co-created placemaking.

Increasingly, placemaking, social mobility and the civic agenda are becoming important for policymakers, universities and other civic organisations.

We aim to address identified barriers to development, such as a lack of inclusive consultation, failure to engage across diverse communities, inability to leverage relationships across different sectors and knowledge siloes.

Three colourful shed-shaped booths with open doors display books and items outside a modern stone building. A sign reads “SHEDDING”, and a box labelled “CURIOSITY BOX!” is in front. A person walks by on the right.

Team Profiles

S.H.E.D registered as a Community Interest Community in March 2020 – the University of Derby’s first spin out company.

S.H.E.D is currently managed by two Directors, who couldn’t do what they do without the rest of the trusty S.H.E.D team and our stakeholders (or as we like to call them, Shedders).

Four people stand in front of a graffiti-covered wall, posing casually next to a tall wooden sign that reads SHEDDING in bold letters. One person is taking a photo, and all appear relaxed and happy.
